Affordable web design and hosting - Success with Keywords

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Internet is the game of words. The better you use them the higher the chances of your success. Right words will make you win; use the wrong words and you lose. It’s that simple.

Once you add your website to your marketing tool box you should know how to use it. The problem of people is, even though they need their website to help market and help them grow business, they generally tend to forget the strategy part to promote their business & website. If you are one of these groups of people, your primary goal must be to attract visitors to your site because without them, the whole business of having a website becomes useless.

Say your primary goal is to depend on search engine traffic for your website promotion, and your web site is not standing nearer than number 200 on the search engine results pages, no one will know you exist because very few people bother to look past the first four pages of results. There are literally billions of websites out there all hoping one day to make it into the top 20. Sadly, most will languish in the wait or just give up trying. So what do you do to make it happen? Well a good place to start is with keywords.

There is a whole science of key words and also there is a professional help available as SEO (search engine optimization) but we will not get in to it. Look at the search engine browser window, if you’re wondering what people are looking for, that is where you’ll find the answers. So the starting point is to develop your site content around the terms (keywords) that people are searching. Though it doesn’t pay to just take a guess at these keywords, you need to know exactly what terms people are using in their searches. You could get a lot of help in this regard with online keyword databases.

You can try this strategy where you choose a domain name for your website that includes your chosen keyword(s). Lets’ say you have an online store and your product is a new types of hybrid flower you’ve developed a new kind called flowerX. Now if you create a website with a domain name that is simply the name of your online store, still chances are your site will get few traffic because very little amount of people will be searching for your company name. But if you have confirmed that flowerX is a popular keyword that maybe thousands of people will be searching for, it would make a lot of sense to include that keyword in your domain name as well as on your sites pages.

It’s all about giving the search engines what they want. Of course there are lots more to consider in pursuing a top position in search engine results, but without the right words, It is never going to happen.

Professional web design - Easy steps to drive traffic to your website

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

To obtain a bucket load of internet traffic is the goal of every single internet marketer but unluckily it’s easier said than achieved. The question at hand then (especially in generally speaking, if you or someone that understands and has expert knowledge are new to internet marketing) is how do you increase internet traffic to your site?

There are three fundamental ways to obtain internet traffic to your site. Some of these methods have fairly rapid results, some are more long term and some are free while others will require you dipping into your pocket. Okay here goes…the following are the three main methods to increase internet traffic to your site:

1. Paying For Internet Traffic: In an ideal world it would simply be a case of build it and then they’ll come. But as and its most important to understand if you are well aware this world of ours is far from ideal…so regrettably and its most important to understand if you are going to have to sweat a little to obtain that online traffic! I am positive like most of us you really don’t want to pay for internet traffic (who does?) but the plain fact is, if your site is new, while and its most important to understand if you are busy struggling to claw your way up the search engine rank pages (SERPs) paid advertising is your quickest route to obtain internet traffic.

Another reason why (in generally speaking, if you or someone that understands and has expert knowledge’re used to online marketing) you would seriously consider using this method is the fact that your site is going to be just another splash in a tidal wave of millions of internet marketing sites. And know what that means? It means the search engines are going to be ever so hesitant to facilitate your climb to the top! Why? Because you aren’t offering any preowned, unique or useful information to the web (well probably not aspect element within the beginning at least)–and that by the way is the core of the search engine business–offering useful information to searchers. Further more this is also the reason why individuals who target niche markets get higher SERP listings and higher page rank so much faster than somebody who targets an already saturated, highly competitive market.

Paying to obtain internet traffic is what is commonly referred to as Pay-Per-Click or PPC. At its most basic, pay-per-click marketing involves you composing an advert and bidding for a relevant searched-for keyword. Your ad will then be listed on the excellent relevant search engine index pages for that same keyword you bid. The more competitive a keyword is, the higher your bid price will have to be for your ad to appear on either Page 1 or Page 2 of the search engines (the reason why you want to be resting on the first two search engine pages is that most people rarely go deeper than two pages to view the results of their search query). The convenience of PPC advertising is that it can increase internet traffic to your site within a few minutes to hours. The disadvantage is that it is very competitive and in most cases, if you or someone that understands and has expert knowledge aren’t watchful, it can cost you a mini-fortune with little to show for it. So you’d be well advised to take the time to learn the ropes for PPC marketing before diving headlong. if you or someone you know are new to the whole PPC concept, go to Google and read up about their PPC model commonly known as Google Adwords.

The following is a list of PPC models you can most defiantly use to increase internet traffic to your site:

The Big Guns: Google Adwords; Yahoo! Search Marketing.

The Lesser Guns: Kanoodle; Ask Jeeves; Enhance Interactive; 7Search.

2. Free Internet Traffic: Yes there is such a thing as free on-target internet traffic, and the advantages are self-evident…FREE! The flip side however, is that and its most important to understand if you are going to have to put in a little bit more effort into harnessing this particular brand of internet traffic. So how do you go about getting this free online traffic–simply…by promoting yourself to the online community as an expert in your field. And the way to do this is by writing remarkable, informative and useful articles relevant to your target audience. Next thing, submit your article to as many article Directories as you can easily. Then Kazaam! before you know it, individuals will be snapping up your articles as content for their sites! There are hundreds of article directories out there and almost as many software programs to automate your article submission so finding places to submit your articles to shouldn’t be a problem. If your articles are well written and informative a great number of the better directories will even include them on their high-stream RSS (real simple syndication) traffic list.

Not only will writing good articles develop new internet traffic flow to your site, it will also boost your conversion ratio (visitors-to-buyer) because your well written articles (or so we hope) will foster a degree of trust and respect in your visitors…which ultimately translates into a visitor who is more receptive to buy from you. However, equally important is the fact that writing articles is the preeminent way to get highly relevant one-way back-links pointing to your site without spending a dime!

Talking about links, if there is only one thing you could know about links, it is that keyword relevant one-way links are the unsurpassed links to have. Furthermore, since they are coming from topically related sites those links are really going to be highly rated by the search engines. Well written articles will have an enormous impact on raising internet traffic to your online business through the viral nature of their dissemination…the only drawback is it can take some time. So with this in mind it’s unsurpassed to start your article writing as soon as possible. That way your back-links will be picked up sooner by the search engines!

A final note about article submission…it’s better to submit to article directories with high page rank, at least to begin with. How come? Because it’s a well known fact that search engine spiders tend to crawl websites with higher page rank much more frequently than sites with low or zero page rank. In essence this means that those back-links pointing to your site will be picked up that much quicker by the search engine crawlers. Also consumers are much more likely to obtain content from well respected directories, and such directories obviously tend to have a page rank of 5 and above. However also bear in mind that an article directory that has a low page rank today can well boast a high page rank sometime resource within the tomorrows to come. So go ahead (in most cases, if you or someone that understands and has expert knowledge have obtained the time or software), be a daredevil and submit to them all!

3. Getting Website Traffic Using Good SEO Techniques: Lastly but certainly not least you could apply time proven and tested SEO (search engine optimization) techniques to increase your online business traffic. But first things first…are you familiar with the term SEO? If not, here’s a very brief explanation (this article is not about search engine optimization and will barely scratch the surface on all there is, talk about SEO. However as things stand, the internet is liberally sprinkled with thousands of excellent articles on SEO so you shouldn’t have any difficulty getting up to speed).

At its most basic SEO is the process whereby you structure or design your site in a manner that search engine crawlers (also refered to as spiders) verify highly attractive. The aim of search engine optimization is, get your web site ranked as high as possible on the splendid search engine index (results) pages (the pages that show up in your browser, following a search query on any search engine). All things being equal (i.e., you’ve got original useful content on your site) a well optimized site will rank better resting on the search engine index pages than one that is not optimized yet (more or less) has the same attributes.

SEO techniques are arduous and time consuming, and furthermore the results from your SEO efforts can take a while to manifest–but what you would understand, is that when applied optimally, in time this method will be your biggest draw of internet traffic!

Affordable web design and hosting - Here are few things to remember if you are going to write an ebook

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

* Plan it, visualize it, and foresee it in your minds eye. Now break it down into manageable chunks. The hardest part of writing is the beginning. Once you begin it with a positive mind set, we are sure you will come up with an interesting and readable ebook planning; so, even though at first may it seems like an impossible task be confident and be sure to fill with useful and valuable information.

* If you really want to write you are going to write it. So, make sure you give yourself enough reasons to write an ebook. It may be for financial gain, promoting a business, advancing your career, education, self satisfaction or something entirely different. Whatever are your reasons, write all of them down and please don t skip this step.

* Before you write your first line, choose your subject and organize your thoughts. Ideally you should spend 70% of your total vested time in to research and development .You can always use 30% of the remaining time writing down this informative ebook. Think about this! Your ebook is circulating around the world. Does that give you enough push to write it better?

*Choosing a subject and choosing a title are two different things but both should go hand in hand while deciding on content and title. Soon you will realize that you can t cheat your readers. You should deliver the same stuff they are expecting after reading the title of your ebook.

* You do not have to necessarily be a writer to write an ebook. All you need to do is become a little imaginative, little creative about the collection of some particular information. If you are ready to do this you are ready to write an ebook. You must gather, organize and outline your information. Always add resources and links when applicable. A good ebook for giveaway can be as simple as a collection of your articles or even the articles of other authors.

* Beginning your writing in MS Word is a good choice. You will get lot of time to check and re-check your document. Choose the format and layout of your document, including chapters, headings and introductions. Dependent on your subject, you may wish to add photographs, anecdotes or testimonials that will keep your readers interested.

* Don’t forget to run a spell and grammar checking, and proofread your own work or ask a friend to do it for you. You are judged by something as minor as correct punctuation, so don’t mess up a great book by tossing out semicolons randomly, or stringing sentences together with commas.

* Finally, create an index and a bibliography. Congrats! You have just finished writing your first ever ebook! Don t worry this sound unbelievable to most of the writers.

* After you finish your ebook, you must start promoting it. You must add it to your website and also submit it, as many websites and directories that you can find, add it to your article resource box, announce it on message boards and email discussion. Even you can choose to make a separate web page for it and submit the page to search engines.

* Note down that an ebook is a very valuable resource and everyone will find your ebook useful if it is how it should be, informative ! Ebook can even give you solid reputation and earn lot profit too. Many have achieved this seemingly impossible task from a carefully and honestly written ebook.

Affordable web design - First steps to start website designing

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Will you believe me if I tell you that if you are thinking to start designing your web page you can do the following as your first steps:

Open up a new fresh document in-
    Adobe Photoshop
    Macromedia Fireworks or
    Dream weaver

and go straight to start working on your first ever web page, I am sure you will not believe me; but if You come to know that all you need to start designing is sheet of paper and a pen will you believe me?

Why not outline your needs to make a webpage first? Asking yourself some important questions like this will surely help you find out your unique requirements.

What are your expectations from the visitors?
Do you want to sell them an online product?
Will you allow them to personally call you and even meet you?
You just want them to know your business?
Are you going to promote a business from your website?
How you want to communicate with your website visitors?
Are you going to tell them who you are?
Are you going to tell them what you specialize in?
Are you going to tell them what you do?
Are you going to tell them what you sell?

Which are the ways you want your business to come across?
You want it to be Faster or Slower, Novice or Professional? You are the one who can answer this question.

Don’t you think you need a map before you start your journey?

Let us explore an example:

And let s set our goals-

What are my main expectations from this website?

May be your answer will tell you that you want to raise awareness about your business, you have started a new Marketing Consultancy business and you want to encourage website visitors to contact you online and also you are hoping to build a client base by using may be a contact form. Potential customers should find this information useful and it should tell them why they should make use of your services.

Which people will attract to visit my website?

and your answer will again tell you about your potential customers, may be Professional people from various size of organizations who are looking for marketing services because they want to increase their exposure.

What will be the expectations of my potential customers when it comes to the feel of my website?

May be your answer to this question will tell you that your visitors will expect a professional look. They will also expect a logical navigation and lots of info about the services you are providing them. It will also tell you the nature of website; here they will not appreciate playful things like music, pictures, movies etc. They will expect information served quickly.

Other services:

Which are the services your business is going to offer them? In this Particular example you will probably offer copy writing, advertising, Public relations, brand promotion and product marketing. If these, you feel are your core services, you should have links these services or buttons on your homepage.

From the point of view of website design and structure, try to visibly separate services and other stuff.

When it comes to Deciding between Horizontal and Vertical Navigation try to choose Vertical Navigation as it is easier. Try to limit the width of your website into 760 pixels limit. this is the standard width of 800X600 resolution screens also these does not includes scroll bars.

While selecting horizontal navigation you should think of the navigation options and categories, such as “products”, “services”, “company” and “downloads”.

Why Footer is necessary?

Footers have many advantages as it includes copy write tag and also tries to help your visitors by actually ’spoon feeding’ and not letting them search the required page by themselves. After all you want to make a user friendly website don’t you?

In a nut shell:

A website which is suitable to your needs is the best website. Try to avoid the pit falls of making an unsuitable one will be the best advice for the starters.
